Europe is the sixth largest continent in the world. It is home to 11% of the worlds population and is divided into 50 sovereign states with Russia being the largest. It was the birthplace of Western civilization and between the 16th and 20th century the European powers controlled the majority of the planet through colonization. Both World Wars were fought predominantly in Europe leaving their scars visible on the land today. The castles, churches and statues that cover the landscape every where you look, make Europe one of the best place to visit to witness a mostly untouched history of human civilizations.
